Bukayo Saka has shared Arsenal fans’ sentiments, agreeing that a new striker at the club may improve Mikel Arteta’s team.

We haven’t signed a forward since January 2018, when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was introduced to the supporters via social media with a wonderful introductory video.

However, the Gabonese international is now 32 years old and appears to be past his prime, which coincides with attackers at the club who are now in contract disputes.

“I think it would be Thierry Henry,” Saka told LADbible when asked who previous or current player he would like Arsenal to add to boost the current group. Of course, there have been many legends at Arsenal, such as Ian Wright and Dennis Bergkamp.

“But I think what Thierry Henry did that season, that ’04 season, was extraordinary, and if he could reproduce that for us, I think we’d win the league right away, so I’d pick Thierry.”

Following the emergence of a striker issue at the club, the Gunners have been connected with a slew of strikers.

Due to their contracts expiring in less than ten months, Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah appear to be on the verge of leaving in the January transfer window or in the summer.

If both strikers leave the club, Arsenal will be short of forwards, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Folarin Balogun the only strikers remaining in the team.

Arsenal, on the other hand, should look no farther than Alexander Isak to secure his signing if they follow Saka’s suggestion.

When speaking to Swedish YouTube channel Min Stora Dag, the Swedish striker previously compared himself to Henry, saying: “I have a lot of football stars that I have looked up to and taken a lot from.”

But if I had to pick one, I’d go with Thierry Henry, who I’ve always admired and who possesses many attributes that I’ve tried to emulate.”

If Edu is unable to recruit the potential Real Sociedad striker, the club may have found the next Henry inside its own ranks, with Balogun becoming the guy to fill the striker vacuum.

The fact that Saka has reiterated our demands emphasizes the necessity for Arsenal to buy a world-class striker capable of restoring the club to its former glory days of competing for major trophies.
