Spread the word – there’s a brilliant new talent here – By Big G
After a couple of listens, the songs are settling themselves into my little brain and I can tell the world that there are nine brilliant tracks and one very good track; yes, not a bad track on the album and the talent of Rob Finlay comes shining through. There are a number of aspects of the album I particularly like. One is the fact that I can hear all the words, Rob has a fine voice – clear, in tune and one which makes me want to listen to him more, following, if I care to, the lyrics in the rather colourful and excellently put-together booklet. I would like to think that there are special times ahead for this young man, and I think it is important that we support the likes of Rob Finlay, who is making original, brilliant and thoughtful music, so let’s spread the word!
The Sounds of Fin – By Propmaster
When I was told to listen to Rob Finlay’s new album as it had a Folk sound to it, my first response was “Folk isn’t really my thing”. I was really converted when I listened to this album though. It isn’t a Folk album but has a twang of Folk in it and makes it very unique and a pleasurable listening experience. I played it through my garden sound system whilst having a large BBQ party and got a lot of people asking me who the song was by and the fact they liked it a lot. I now have this album in my car and listen to it every morning on the school runs as it brightens my day and gets me in the mood to face the daily grind. I would highly recommend this album and it has become one of my top 5 albums of all time.
Good debut album from budding singer/songwriter – By ozziepeeps
I bought Rob Finlay’s “These Words Aren’t Meant For Me” after having heard a few clips of tracks and the full length version of the excellent Sister to a Brother on YouTube. I’m impressed! The songs are very good, and the production and playing is of a very high standard. Rob’s lyrics are excellent, and the vocal delivery suits the music perfectly. This is a great album and the tracks fit together well. I’d recommend it to anyone.
